Marketing Scheme for Ska/Reggae DJ Night
I will be using a business to business (B2B) and a business to consumer (B2C) strategy to market and promote my event.
Using a B2B marketing strategy will help me to collaborate with minimal funding with another business by offering a mutual benefit to both myself and the venue. I will offer to provide artists, my own equipment, my own staff and, most importantly, entertainment, in exchange for the use of the venue and stage. This will bring in customers who will by drinks and such from the bar, thus benefiting the venue financially. This will benefit myself as it can provide me with a good venue for me to stage my event for my FMP. I will also be doing this event for charity, they will benefit from this because people will be donating money towards the charity.
I will also be using a B2C strategy. I will be focusing on the wants of my target audience and I will try to create an event that appeals to what they want. My target audience are people who listen to Ska and Reggae music. My event would have to include Ska/Reggae music and a dancefloor. I will also be using the incentive that there is a bar there, as well as the fact that it is a free event with the option of donating to a charity.
The following is a marketing scheme for my event:
Conclusion
By using my research on marketing within the following blog: https://aliceteehanfmp.video.blog/2019/03/03/marketing-and-promoting-live-events-%EF%BB%BF/,
I have been able to inform my work above. I have decided to create this simple table of what needed to be done each week leading up to my event, as a way of tracking what needs to be done, as Alejandro Cremades (2018) suggests within a Forbes article.
Within each week I will be completing the task as necessary, this may be inclusive of both practical and research-based work. All will be documented within different blogs and evaluations throughout the duration of my marketing scheme. This will help me to be able to effectively promote my event and expand my knowledge on how to do this in a practical sense.
